Any Roomba owners?

I am on my second Roomba, have the schudeler model with the remote. It actually does a great job getting all the corners and along the wall. It also fits under all my furniture and navigates around the chair legs under the dining table rather well. Its great to get up brew some coffee and read the paper while my carpet gets cleaned without me lifting a finger

We have the Roomba Discovery for upstairs. Has remote but no scheduler. Also has the spot clean button and the clean till you drop button.
I recently bought a Roomba Dirt Dog for my work area in the basement. It has one button that says Clean.

It's funny when we run the one upstairs. Our big cat is so used to it he just lays in the middle of the floor and lets it bump into him. Might be that he's awful lazy too. This is the same cat that lies down to drink out of the water bowl most of the time.

Oh yeah, the wife named the one upstairs George. I just call mine The Dog.

I should add that I also think they do a great job. Way better than I imagined it would before I bought it. Excellent way to get the dust bunnies under the beds too. Also great how they keep themselves from falling down the stairs.

I was thinking of getting my dad the one for his garage, glad to hear it works well. I have been very pleased with my roomba and everyone loves him and ask questions

Yet another Christmas idea for the wife! Not sure how that will go over, but I think it would be a good gift. Wonder how good it works for dog hair. Two Weimeraners in the house means lots of dog hair dust bunnies.

I have a long haired cat and it works great for cat hair so I would assume it will work well for dog hair.
I can't imagine any woman not liking one for a gift.

It works great on dog hair. Infact it does a much better job that the standard vacs because if gets under and around everything. Also whenever it finds dirt/hair a sensor goes off and it stays in that area until that area is clean, pretty slick. I have a med haired dog and roomba makes it look like he doesnt even live here

Wow, I always figured they were just a gimmick. I might have to pick one up because it seems we are always cleaning up dog hair from our German Shepherd.

I have had the basic red roomba for almost a year now and I use it every day. I love this thing. We have hard wood floors on the floor and I just bought the family a scooba model that cleans the floors with water and cleaners. I will update when I use it for the first time.

Question

Do the Roomba's work well in rooms with area rugs that are on carpet?

It would be nice to have one cleaning the carpet in the living room because, Brooklyn puts ANYTHING she can find on the floor into her mouth. When you catch her, and she knows it, she'll turn and run from you......the little brat.

Have had the Roomba scheduler for about a year and a half and with four dogs the dust bin is full after each vacuuming! Bought the Scooba for my wife for Christmas so she won't have to clean the tile floors either.

I see some of you have named yours too. Ours is Buster from the beginning when somebody said get out of the way buster. It just stuck.

Need a new battery for The Roomba soon as its cleaning time is getting short

you will be surprised how much dog hair it collects...vacuum with your normal vacuum and then turn on the Roomba and it will get MUCH more. They really do work

P.S. I have 4 dogs and the wife will love it!

Same thing happened to mine. Run the battery completely down then charge the battery for 72 hours and you should see a improvment. Doing this helped my Roomba run for over an Hr on med profile carpet

Keep in mind that so far we've only been talking about the irobot Roomba models. I have no idea how well other brands of robotic vacuums work. If anyone has a different brand please let us know.
