Any one had an MRI?
Hey guys thanks for all of your help I really appreciate it! I tore bicep tendon's last year so I know thats already on the list
As far as rotator cuff goes, they said I would be one hell of a case if I blew out my rotator cuff at 18. I have nerve damage in my C7 which causes me not to be able to move my neck very much. It sends a shooting pain from my shoulder blade all the way through my finger tips its no fun. I also have major instability in my left shoulder which is why we will probably go the route of have to scope my shoulder. I have been a competitive swimmer since the age of 6 and butterfly was my specialty. I guess swimming 10,000 + yards everyday for 10 years starts to add up. My shoulder has popped out 3 times in previous races. He said that he could give me a cortisone shot so I could make it through the season and that it wouldn't damage it anymore but the pain is just ridiculous. I have to have the procedure done because its starting to effect my everyday. I haven't slept in going on 4 days. Before that it was almost 6. On the days that I do sleep it's hard to wake up for class and I just feel completely worthless. I wish they would subscribe me a pain killer that works too this is ridiculous. Everything they have givin me is a joke, i'm better of drownin my sorrows

The only other thing I can add is that if you are in some line of work where you frequently can/do get metal fragments in your eyes (welder, fabricator, etc), make sure you mention that. They will have to x-ray you to make sure you don't have anything left in your eyes.
If not, they will be sucked out of your face and plastered on the inside wall of that big magnetic coffin.
Seriously though, if that applies to you...let them know.

Jeez that sucked. The worse part was not being able to move. That really hurt me more than anything. They had speakers in the room so I got to choose which radio station I listened to. They made me wrap my hand around something to keep the joint open to ahh it hurt. To bad they won't prescribe me to something that works or it wouldn't have been that bad of an experience. I find out monday about the surgery I'll be sure and let you guys know. Good call on dressing comfy too. Sheez that would have sucked if i was in jeans or something. The sweat pants and hoodie made it way more enjoyable and they had a feather pillow
I dont know how you guys slept in there I could relax at all. I felt like I was being put through chinese torcher techniques when they tie you up and drip water on your head for hours until you break

I defiantly didn't have a problem with tensing up.
I laid down, they shoved me in the machine, I felt like a turkey getting shoved in the oven for dinner..... the machine started making circles around me what seemed like millimeters from my face. So I closed my eyes. Next thing I know someone walks in the room. I couldn't move to look to see who it was because I had to lay still. A few moments later.... I feel my hospital gown being pulled up and something warm and moist on my happy place. I was thinking God dang, this is service now!!!! I'm going to be getting one of these scans done once a week from now on!
Then I thought, wait..... I haven't seen any female nurses in this wing.......
So I spent the next :30 seconds trying to figure out a way to get them to make a sound so I find out if it was male or female..... Then decided screw it, It's who ever I want it to be because I can't see them... So I laid back and enjoyed it. Next thing I know they are coming in to take me out of the machine and the bastards woke me up.

Hahah I love it. Jeez I need a good laugh all this crap has got me pretty down. I went from being one of the most productive people to not being able to accomplish much. I used to wake up everymorning at 4:30 and practice from 5 till 8:30. Go to Class from 9 till 12. Work from 1 till 6. Then practice again from 6 till 9. Then come home and sleep and do it all over. That has been my routine now for about 4 years, it's really weird with out it. Now I am just sitting at home and going to work when it is bareable. Jeez this is boring, it must be hell getting old and not having anything to do.

warm and moist? what the heck were they scanning,, wait, I dont want to know.. lol
I have had several MRI for lower back issues. That thing makes the wierdest sounds, I just wanted to take it apart to see what the heck is inside it
It sounded like some real bad european alternative rock, moog syth or something. It definately helps to have some sort of tranquilizer, and it was very uncomfortable, my upper body wouldnt even fit in it I had to go up in it backwards.
Jwool15 I hope whatever they find leads you to a quick recovery. I know that pain on a daily basis will bring you down, it is exhausting. You never realize just how bad it is until you have experienced that kind of thing.
I had an MRI for my knee. This was over 5 years ago, they played my favorite radio station (102.1) on the PA. I'm somewhat clostorphobic, but I only had to go in half way because they were just doing my knee.
They scoped and found torn miniscus and also found that I have no ACL in my right knee.
Scoped my knee later to fix the miniscus and took good pics of where my ACL was supposed to be. I function fine without it. Fully functional.

I had an MRI done a few months ago. I was having "intermittent double vision".
So, they took a look at my brain to see if they could see anything wrong, but they found nothing.
..get it? They found nothing.

Sounds like I'm the only one who has had their shoulder scaned. It blows *****. The actual scan only took about 30-40 minutes. But, the dye that they injected hurt like a ****. they shoot the equivelent of a tooth paste tube of that dye right into the socket. PAINFUL!!!! everything swells up so it will show up on the scan. the worst part I think is when they shove that big a$$ needle half way into your shoulder. sorry for the details man... it's making my shoulder hurt thinking about it.
