2009 Ram 1500 Specs!
According to www.pickuptruck.com the new 2009 Ram will be radical in two areas, the first being rear suspension. The traditional leaf spring rear suspension will be ditched in favor of a independent coil spring rear link suspension, similar to the GM Avalance, payload will not be effected. A side saddle locking storage box with 8ft., of cubic space will also be available. The HEMI will be bumped to 375HP & remain at it's current 5.7 liter displacement.....interesting..info........

ooo ! I cant wait to buy it so it can rust and fall apart and make noises that the dealer cant find! As long as it has a hemi and IRS I'm game!

....and it will wiegh more. Cheve used to use that set up in there light duty half tons back in the 60's and early 70's... they quit doing that for a reason. Guess dudge didn't study history.

Actually I bet they will be better to lift. Sure it will cost more but Im sure the design they are using is going to be very similar to the design they have been using on the Jeeps for years. Someone will come out with a long arm kit for these trucks that makes them flexy as all hell.
I'm all about links when it comes to off roading. There is so much more suspension travel. As for payload and stuff like that, I guess I am just going to have to wait and see it in person before I make a decision. But if the same design has been holding the front axles under the weight of the 3500's cummins diesel, I bet it will be just fine out back.

Friend just traded the POS 2006 chevy 2500HD in because it was in 10 times in 2 months for heater issues. Oh it gets better! He bought a dodge 1500 and guess what. In under 1000miles it has shut off completely going down the road TWICE and the dealer has replaced the throttle body and I forgot what the thing they replaced the second time was though.
