Cell phone help!!! PLEASE!!!!
ok people. I decided to try out my new washing machine by running my brand freakin new Blackjack cellphone thru it. Guess who won. anyone out there in internetville have a blackjack or similar phone (thru AT&T or unlocked) with insurance? Anyone?
I am stuck with a 2 year contract and a real crappy razor at the present. it is the holidays and all... :santa:
PM me if so. Thanks!

Did you try taking the battery out and letting the phone dry out for a day or two? I brought a Samsung phone I had back to life like that, one I left in a jacket pocket before throwing the jacket into the washing machine.
Take that thing as far apart as you can and let it air dry out for a couple days. You'd be surprised what phones can take, I dunked my Motorola V60 completely in the lake a few years ago (in my pocket, turned on BTW). Stripped it down and laid all the pieces on my dash in the truck to bake, turned it on in the morning and worked like a champ. I've since handed it off to Mom, but it performs flawlessly to this day.
soak/rinse it in distilled water before drying it. It's already wet and most likely ruined so it can't hurt to use clean water to possibly save it. If you don't, the minerals and crap in normal water will eventually corrode the contacts and it will stop working even if you manage to revive it once. There are also website with instructions on how to save your phone. I took mine swimming in a chlorinated pool. saved it but the corrosion got me later.
ok, here we go...
sure did.
I completely dismantled it. 15 screws, microchips, lcd screen, speakers and all and let it sit out for over a week. no luck
didn't try this out. sounds like it should have worked, but it has been a few weeks now and the corrosion that has happened is proably not reversable.
Blackjacks are selling for over $250. can you blame me for asking you all for help there? insurance is only $50, plus you get a new phone out of it...
