Holy Smaokes, man. What's the deal?
It's a tough situation for those that work in the industry. It's not like the bar owner has an intox machine at the door.
Many are killed by those that are impaired, but show no outward signs to the untrained eye.
Most that are over .08, the legal limit in most states now; may not show any signs of impairment until they are behind the wheel. A person can drink several drinks after work in a short time, get behind the wheel and the BAC will continue to rise for several hours. Can't hold the server, or the establishment accountable for that type of situation.
But, it a patron has been sitting at the bar for 6 hours and had 12 drinks, common sense would say that a taxi should be called.
