Whenever I get a tire fixed it says on the receipt to retorque the wheels after so many miles. It is a bigger issue with alloys than the steel rims I have. I think you would be SOL in getting them to help you out aside from giving them a good laugh.

wow..

My question is, why did you leave hockey and go off driving when you noticed you had no brake power when you got there...?

Same thing happened to me about a week ago. I smelt somethin' getting hot from the front right wheel area so I stopped and checked it out but nothing felt loose and all my lug nuts were on tight so I figured I could make it home and take a look at it the next day when I had some light. About a mile down the road I felt the tire wobbling and I knew what was about to happen so I hit the brakes and sure enough the front of the truck dropped down and I see my tire rollin' down the road in front of me. I backed the truck up about 50' to a side road on 3 tires so I could get off the road. My brake rotor and hub broke off with my tire though. I haven't even looked at it since that night so I'm not sure what all I'm gonna have to replace.

OMG I cant belive no one has caught this yet.............

OK, if you ever happen to se that you only have one lug nut left on a rim........

Take 1 from the other 3 tires, that will give you 4 out of 5 on each tire (on a half ton) and that will get you to the parts store safely, where you can buy 4 more and put 5 on all 4 corners again......

I didn't read that the lug nuts 'backed off'
I read it as they broke off taking most of the stud with them.

A 5 or 6 lug wheel can be run with 3 lugs on in a triangle pattern. Any less is pure trouble.
