Question How much is my truck worth?

I have a 99 F-150 XLT SUpercab (4drs) with the 4.6l V8. Working A/C, auto transmission. The interior is near perfect, and the paint has only minor scratches here and there. I'm in the deep South so no salt damage from roads.

It has had regular oil changes (Castrol Syntek) and transmission fluid, etc. The only repairs as such have been an ABS speed sensor and the Idle Air Control Valve in the last year.

I know all about Edmunds and Kelly Blue Book online references, but what I'm trying to get a feel for is what I might get "real world" selling to an individual.

The reason I'm having trouble with an estimate is that it has ultra low miles for its age -- I only hit 65k *this* month at the 9year mark (I bought it Halloween of 98).

The miles are so low its effectively off the charts both for pricing and maintenance guides.

Any ideas what it might reasonably go for?

I would thinking 9500 would be a reasonable asking price

It's on the charts. It's low miles but well within range of pricing guides.

KBB private party is 7 grand.

x2 on glc's pricing.

However, be careful if you sell your truck... you might regret it.

I regret trading my '99.

If you live in my area you should ask just a few dollars shy of original MSRP back in 1999.

That's what everybody else does.

I hate shopping for used trucks.

You may even have problems getting near book on a full size truck now due to gas prices. I'd recommend you keep it for now - or is the reason you want to sell gas prices? If so, I think I've made my point. The only strong market right now for full size trucks is the work truck market, and people who buy used work trucks don't care how nice they look, they want cheap. People who want a good used tow vehicle won't want a 4.6.

The online pricing guides have an allotment for low mileage built-in.

You can test it by entering your truck info correctly for everything except mileage, try using typical mileage for that vehicle (9 years X 12,000) 108,000 miles.

You find your vehicle is worth at least a $1,000 more because it has 65k.

I have a 1999 with 103K.

KBB says my private sale is $6,820
I entered it again, everything the same except for 65K mileage,
private sale was $7760.
