100 mph cut off
100 mph cut off
My truck doesnt cut off at 100 mph. Of course I cant tell how fast it is going because there is a needle hits the stop. However my truck doesnt shut off, it's completely stock 5.4. I keep hearing other people say their 50's shut off at 100. Or does it just stop it from exceeding the 100 mph, however allowing the vehicle to maintain speed? What's the deal ?

Well, I assumed that, however, I was wondering if there was anyone else with an 00,01, etc that have noticed something similar or know. It feels it has more of an "Exceeder" allowing me to reach 100mph, maybe a few mph more, then allowing me to maintain speed, without cutoff. However, I cannot for sure say this. I can only judge by feel. I could quit possible continue picking up speed, slowly, without the speedo showing.

Buckin: Are you saying you have the 5.4? And also, does it just seem to "hang" at around 100mph? I guess basically what I am asking is, does anyone elses f150 does this, and if so, does anyone know exactly what the computer is doing? Since it isnt cutting fuel off, how would it be limiting the speed?

) do you mean engine wise or on the speedom.?
I understand its the speed limiter. I am wondering how it is "limiting" since it doesnt cut fuel off, or stop spark, etc.
Buckin:Wondering about the engine.
Dave: Simple, because I want to. To see if it can. To make myself feel better. It gets me off. I like wasting gas.
