Turntables...
What do you guys use for a nice Hi-FI turntable to add to your cinema collection?
I was thinking of getting a Technics... but not sure which one... I need one that plays 16 2/3 , 33 1/3 , 45 , 78 rpm vinyls.
Got any good ones out there to shoot for?

But I've got some good records from the 60's, 70's, and some 80's... that would be worth while playing instead of sitting on a shelf collecting dust.
you're going to have a tough time finding one that plays all those speeds. Never heard of the 16rpm availability. The last turntable I bought probably 5 years or so ago only had 33 and 45.
Might check out www.dak.com -they may have some off-the-wall computer thing that would correct for a record played off-speed so you could at least get it stored digitally. Surely there are others. Heck, IIRC, they're still pressing vinyl in limited quantities and selections so surely the equipment would still be available.
EBay would be another avenue.
I still like the vinyl sound - it just seems so much 'warmer' than the same songs played digitally. But I can't crank it up too much - the speaker feedback just gets annoying!

Damn, I didn't think you could even buy a turn table any more. I think the last record I ever bought was Kiss "Rock and Roll Over"

Thats what mine looks like before they get put on CD/DVD, put then they look like both.
Gemini makes good turntables in every price range. Stanton makes really good higher end turntables.
I haven't been turntable shopping in a while but I haven't seen anything other than 33 and 45 as well on the newer ones.

The best turntables you can buy are made by Sota, unfortunately their machines only cover 33.3 and 45. I doubt you'll find a single table that will play all those speeds, and even if you did, you need a different stylus for 78 RPM records. The stylus used for LPs won't play 78s so unless you find a table that has two arms or interchangable styli, you can't play all-in-one.
Check these guys out. I've gotten stuff from them before. They ship quickly and have excellent customer service. They have one that is a 3 speed, finding the 16 2/3 is going to prove difficult.
