I've been gettin' screwed on Paypal here lately. They get the item and then file a claim and it locks up the money where I can't get it out and then it ends up taking 2-3 weeks for Paypal to close the claim. I'm thinkin bout goin back to accepting money orders only.

so far i can't say i've had any complaints with paypal. we do about 30-40 transactions through there a day, and around $60k a week through there.

it's not perfect, but it's close. money orders are scary. i deposited one and it ended up costing me because it was fake. i even had the bank look at it and they said it was ok.

sign up for paypal. make sure that ALL your info is correct on ebay and paypal. as a seller it makes it really easy if we have problems if you have a phone number registered on ebay.

on paypal, make sure that you have a confirmed address. that's the only way paypal will cover you in case a seller tries to screw you, or vice versa. look at the sellers feedback.

for example, right now i have 23495 as my feedback. in the last 30 days, i've gotten a total of 637 positive, 15 neutral, and 6 negative. my overall rating though is 99.3%. what's that mean? i've talked to just about everyone who has left me a neutral and all i can say is: you just can't please some people. so take that in mind when looking at feedback. look at the positive feedback ratio to the negative feedback.

READ the sellers feedback. see what other people who have bought from them say.

IF there is a phone number, give them a call. you just want to make sure it's all legit right?

BEWARE of overly high shipping rates. what ALOT of sellers do is raise the shipping rate and lower the overall price becuase ebay doesn't charge fee's on shipping.

basically bud, if you need any help in trying to find out if something is legit on ebay, shoot me the item number in a pm.

I love eBay! I've never sold anything but I've bought lots. I watch the sellers feedback. If its a high priced item I won't bid if the seller doesn't have at least 100 feedback with a rating of 98.5% or better. If it's a lower priced item I'll bid even if they only have 5-10 feedback, everyone has to start somewhere! If the seller has less than 100% feedback rating, I go and read the negative reviews to see why they got negative feedback. I always pay with PayPal, it's so simple and you'll get your item quicker than if you have to mail a money order.

Give it a try and have fun!!

Ebay rules. I usually dont make a purchase anywhere unless I consult Ebay. Bought golf shoes on sale at a golf store...they were cheaper on Ebay. Never buy anything unless you have priced it on Ebay. Why pay more?

I've never had any issues with ebay. Just do like everyone else said about the feedback.

fyi,
i bought my truck off ebay. i bought 60% of my stuff for my truck off ebay. the other i bought mostly off here and craigslist.

as long as you read through it carefully and you KNOW what you are getting, you should be ok.

Ebay is a great place to find nearly impossible things too. I've found tons of stuff for my 64 Galaxie on there and sold stuff I had. Paypal has given me no problems, just maybe set up a new account with a credit card only for ebaying, that way you can monitor more closely. Yes, sometimes people jerk you around, but I've had many go way out of their way to please me, and vise versa.

I save a whack by buying off eBay. I've bought and sold, and knock on wood, I've never had a problem.
I just went on a huge spending spree for my nitro truck, and a few other things. If I bought those same things here I'd have spent 100's more.

I've bought and sold a fair amount of stuff on eBay without much problem, but have received counterfeit/fake products on a couple of occasions, so make sure you look at everything you buy very closely. One of the counterfeit products I got were some Nike running shoes...the first sign that they were counterfeit was the fact that they were shipped directly from China...then they started falling apart after about 7 days of wear. I took them to a shoe store and compared them to pair on the shelf, and noticed a lot of small differences between the shoes (stitching, color, materials, etc). Nike confirmed that they were fake, so I got my money back from the seller. The second counterfeit product was a set of golf clubs. They looked just like the real deal, but the manufacturer confirmed that the serial number on the clubs was not in their records. Again, I returned the clubs and got my money back.
