Need Some Advice...

First off, Two roomates and I rent the house Im living in. Since we've moved in at the start of semester, things have gone down hill between me and one of my roomates.
He smokes... alot. I dont smoke at all. So my problem is that he doesnt have any respect for the other two of us living here and continues to smoke in the house... I HATE the smell of smoke, especially in my clothes and everywhere else. What are some things I could do to solve this problem? I cant get him to quit doing it because he doesnt care. Should I contact the land lord and go from there? Im just frustrated and confused as what to do...

Sounds like a good teabagging is in order. Or sit around in the buff all the time when you're home, he may opt to move out.

Unless there is a no smoking policy in the lease agreement, the landlord may not be much help for you. It's obvious you've talked it over with this guy, and he couldn't care less. Sorry bud, hope you get it resolved.

How does the other roommate feel about it? I feel for you, as I feel the same way about smoke. But if the other roommate feels the same way, then you should both confront him in a more stearn manner. If that doesnt work, then you may just have to beat his ***.

might try to find some of them old school cigrette loads.. slip some of them puppies in his pack.. and boom next time he lights up..or lace a few cigs with a horse hair (or whatever you can find.) won't do much more than make him sick as a dog next time he lights up.. buddy of mine i use to rodeo with showed me the horse trick mainly used it to keep people from bummin' a smoke. works good too.

I cant find the lease... Problem number one. He pays the bill (or his mom pays the bills cause he doesnt do jack S**T). If I do find the lease and it says "no smoking", can I get him evicted? I'd love that.... I just didnt know if there was any law somewhere saying that the other roomate cant smoke indoors if the others don't want him/her to smoke inside.. We might resort to kicking his ***.... I'd love to do that to but next thing you know he'll be pissing on my mattress or depositing body fluids into my shampoo bottle that I would rather not have in it, if you get my drift....

Yes you can get him evicted, because if you don't and the landlord finds out. Your ALL evicted.

#1 rule - don't move in with friends who still have "mommy" pay the bills.

If the lease does not stipulate "No smoking inside the premises" then you really have no recourse, the landlord can't legally evict him. If talking to the guy isn't working you have a couple of choices. Move or learn to live with it. Kicking his ***, while making you feel better momentarily, would only result in your eviction and/or assault charges. Playing nasty pranks on him in a vain attempt to get him to change his ways is only going to make him your enemy. I don't know about you but I'd really rather NOT live with my enemy!

Good luck.
