Can the factory Security system be enhanced?
Can the factory Security system be enhanced?
My 2007 FX4 Supercrew cab is in the shop with $1500 worth of damage from a break in. The theifs got about $120 worth of gear for all this damage. I have talked to a local alarm installer and he reccomends a new system. Unfortunately the new system will not recognize the keyless entry as a valid way to enter the vehicle, and using it would set off the alarm.. I wanted to know if a shock sensor or a proximity alarm ccan be intalled on the factory alarm system??
If not, is there a brand of alarm that integrates better with the keyless entry?
What is everyone else doing about this?

Sorry, no alarm forum... Do a search on Code alarm 670, and the guy you want is Travis @ KC Autosound . He sold a system to another member here and i watched the install and it went great. I had the code alarm installed by a local shop, and they could not wire it up correctly. Now after reading his instructions, i use my door pad daily.
I am not in KC though.
I grew up in KC and remember KC autosound from the 70's. I am glad they7 are still around. I live a long way away from KC no though. Is there another place to get this work domne in Dallas? Perhaps a way to enhance my existing factory system?
The F-150's, IIRC, do not come with a factory security system. Yes, they have keyless entry, but there is no security system or alarm of any kind from the factory. Any alarm you have was added by the dealer.
