Sherman tanks also use 16 cyl, the block is only slightly longer and a lot taller than a norrmal 302 (5.0L) V8. So you know the cylinders arent very big around. But by multiplying the number of explosions per rpm, and the lengthened stroke, they get 1001 HP out of a Naturally asperiated engine running on pump gas.
That's how my 4.2l V6 works... people think V6 as being small in a truck... but in actuality, I've seen the pistons from the v6, and they are huge compared to the 5.4l's... the 4.2l has a bore of 3.81" and the 5.4l and 4.6l have a 3.55" bore.

It's pretty neat...

I think I could deal with a modest 0-60 in about 3 seconds "expected to be 2 seconds before it's actually put into production" .......

Plus gets 170 MPG!!!!!!

It has 300 horsepower!!! Yet it is only beaten by the Bugatti Veyron, which has 1001hp. It overpasses any Ferrari/Lamborghini/Porsche on petrol-based fuel. And it consumes the equivalent of 170mpg. Pretty good for a sportscar, huh?
