This is why I don't trust my family with my truck

My mom got a 2000 Extended Cab/Long bed F150 a couple years ago. Really nice truck, except it's WAY too big for her.

Shortly after she got it, she turned too sharp in a parking garage or something and screwed up the side of the bed:

Then Halloween night my cousin was driving it and backed into a pole:

I kinda feel bad for the poor truck.

We haven't done anything about the bed yet, but we got a new bumper from a local salvage yard yesterday. It was quite a bit more than it would have cost down at the Pull-N-Save but we didn't want to wait for a decent one to come in.

Oh yeah, anything I need to watch out for swapping bumpers? Looks like it's just 4 bolts and some lights, but I might be missing something.

Hope you got the mounting brackets too. Usually they get bent also.

That'll leave a mark.

Ditto about the mounting brackets, they tend to get bent was well.

I backed into a fawking WALL 3 days after taking over the F250 :o . I drove my F150 for 3 years w/o as much as a scratch on it.... I hop in the F250 and 3 days later ... BAM. And if y'all are wondering how I could do that with the back-up sensors and all, well I thought there was a sidewalk in front of the wall and I thought the sidewalk was what was setting the sensor off. Whoops, my bad. It just bent the bumpter a tiny bit but it's enough for me to notice it every day. And what makes it worse is that I know the people around were probably saying "and THAT is why girls shouldn't drive trucks".

I was completely sober too if thats what your implying. I had just driven about 700 miles for work and it was very dark where I was parking and I tapped it. I was exhausted and did not see the little iron pole. As far as the drinking thing....I have actually been pretty good. I havent had a drink all week. But I am going to have some bourbon tonight!

As long as you're not driving after the bourbon, I'll drink to that!

Youll have to take out the lights by the licence plate. They twist 1/4 or 1/2 turn, and slide out through the back. Easy enough.

Free tip:
Unless you have a couple of friends to hold it for you.
Use a floor jack or atleast a trolley jack with 2x4 or a piece of plywood on it, to balance and hold it while you undo the bolts and to hold teh new one while you put it back on.
