Air intake temp......

Awile back there was alot of ideas on how to get the incoming air cooler on a N/A engine. i can remember any of the ideas but i had one of my own yesterday. What if .... someone modified there ac system to blow into there intake? you would control it from the cab and in thery could work give me your thoughts.

Your motor sucks air much faster than your A/C would ever cool it. So it would get cool air at idle then at full throttle it would be warm. Plus all the time, cutting and plastic needed to re-route your A/C to the intake would be a huge hassle. Just get a good quality cold air intake kit and call it a day IMO
"mods" like these remind me of strapping an electric leaf blower to your intake and calling it a supercharger

Plus anything you would pick up from the cold air. You would lose having to run the a/c pump.

While it may seem like an ingenious idea, the A/C system just isn't meant to put out that much air.

This reminds me of the people who think they're going to watercool their computer and keep the reservoir in the refrigerator (or freezer) to get even lower temps for overclocking.

Dont get me wrong its a neat idea in theory, I just think if it would work the ricers would have already got ahold of it, and made a cool decal to represent it

and then some....... If you gained 2 hp, but use 5 horseppower you would actualy be losing 3 hp......

Best ways to get more air is a larger throttle body (and/or) larger valves (and/or) larger cam (and/or) new tune.

Yea moving to a colder climate, would cool the air temp......

Perferably lower altitude for more oxygen saturation plus lower temp for denser air.

Refrigerators (and freezers for that matter) are meant to get something cold and keep it that way. They just don't have what it takes to constantly cool a heated water source.

Now if you had a large enough supply of water and a large enough refrigerator you may see some gains, but at that point there much more cost/time/space effective ways to cool your PC (i.e. Peltiers or Phase-Change).
