WTF? That's to much for me. I use a mach3 with gel. I shave before bed and in the morning before PT. For some reason that combo works real well for me. If I don't shave at night, I seem to have a 5 oclock around 1000, literally.

I have a Braun 360 complete shaver that I spent about $160 on. It won't even shave as close as a manual razor will. It does an excellent job on my face but not so great on my neck. Bottom line is, if you want a razor that shaves close you'll have to buy a manual.

I disagree. My Norelco, or however you spell it, works better than a razor, hands down.

I'll get the model number later when i get home.

On your beard it does. Mine sends electric shavers crying to their momma. They don't work on my neck well at all. I've tried top of the line Norelco shavers, Remingtons, and Panasonics. Braun busts all their tails hands down. They worked better when I was 16 and had a soft little girlie beard though.

Gillette Mach III all the way. Neutrogena shaving cream rocks, too.

Well that might explain why mine is easy, I'm 17. Altho I dont have a "girly" beard. lol

I will say though that it is basically a must to do it everyday or if is a PITA with the electric razor.

No offense and I dont mean to be racial, but I used to hate asian people in basic training because the dont grow facial hair or barely any and could sleep longer no waiting in line for a sink.

My parents bought me a Remington Electric shaver years ago and and it works awesome! If I want to, I can make feel just as good as a razor, my girlfriend hates a prickly face, and shes approves the clean shave from the Remington!

Looks kinda like this one...Just older I guess...

Cost

It is getting so expensive to buy razors now. $2.00+ per disposable blade is too much. I hate going in and spending $8.00 for a box of 4 blades but they do work better than electric razors.

I've used a few Norelco models in the past. They worked OK, but they absolutely COULD NOT do a 'razor smooth' shave.

I prefer razors, but the cost of good blades is ridiculous.

I've tried many different kinds. I have the best uck with the screen type shavers. Curently use a Remington rechargable screen, have had this one for almost 2 years and only had to replace the blade and screen once just hte other day.

I have a very course and thick beard even with a disposable if I have some place to be after work I have to shave again. I get a 5 O'clock shadow at 10 in the morning. regardless of what I use.

I use the shaver on my face and to thin out my neck then have to use a disposable (dry) to finish my neck becasue the electric can't get all of that on me. The seceret to a close shave with an electric is technique, use small circles.

Ive tried various electric razors (Norelco, Panasonic, Braun) and I never found any of them that shaved as close as a razor.
I personally use a Gillette Fusion Power and I like it. The only downside to it that Ive found is that the replacement blades cost 4x what the razor kit itself cost. 5-packs of blades go for $20.
Ive tried those disposable razors before and I got too many nicks with them. Ive always used either Gillette Sensor, Mach 3 or Fusion Power.
Im lucky in that my jobs dont require me to be clean-shaven. I work 40 hours a week in a factory assembling generators and then I work 3 nights a week (6 hours a night) stocking shelves in a grocery store and they have never hassled me about being clean-shaven. I could walk in looking like a homeless person and I doubt anyone would really care. Most of the time I only shave once a week. I take the guard off my beard/sideburn trimmer and trim it down as low as I can and I get the rest with the razor.

PSS-Mag - I get a 5er at 10 or so too. It sucks being in the military getting inspection at first formation by the 1sg and them questioning you why you didnt shave, and you trying to tell them you swear to God you did. But, Life goes on, untill it happens again anyway.

We had a Greek guy in our unit that had the same problem. He carried an electric razor with him at all times. He'd be shaving on the way to formation to keep Top off his ***. He said once that the only person in his family that got a five o'clock shadow at five o'clock, was his sister.
