question for y'all with a sonic drive thru in your neck of the woods. do you tip the car hop that brings your food out?

 

I would guess you should... but they're probably used to people not tipping. I don't tip if the waitress or waiter does something that pisses me off

 

Sometimes. If I just swing by there for a cherry limeade, then no. But if it's me and my wife ordering food, then I usually do. However with the addition of the debit card swipe machines at the stall, it seems a little harder to tip them since I usually don't carry any cash on me anymore.

 

I tip at kellers drive in but thats a whole other animal. I have never been to Sonics.

Also if it's one I frequent which I travel all over the state and bordering states, but if it's one I am likely to be back at in a few weeks or less, then I definatly tip. The one here and the one by my office both know me and my truck.

 

Yeah i tip them everytime except when i use a debit card! A lot of my friends work at sonic and they make some dang good tips between $50 to 150 everynight in jus tips!!

 

A dollar is usually what I tip at Sonic...unless the chicks shorts are really tight...she may get more!

 

I agree! And no I have never been to a sonic. And I have one down the street too. Maybe I'll try it out one of these days.

 

Man, how is that possible! I don't tip at our Sonic bc all the workers are bitches, no matter which one and the order is always screwed up.

 

ive never been to a sonic, cuz they wont come here. If they do i bet im going to gain a lot of weight on their drinks.. lol

 

i normally give at least a dollar....which is why i dont go there that often, gets to expensive for just a drink.

 

I'll tip a dollar on my meal. No tip for just a drink or ice cream.

 

No. They're making $7+ an hour. It'd be like tipping at McDonalds.

 

if they are female and look good then they get a tip, otherwise they are just doin what they get paid to do. kind of a sorry way to look at it but i cant help it besides there are a couple of them who flirt in the city where i go to college, must be the big truck......
