Pics, et's and video of my shelby

thought i'd share what i'm up to lately, got to make my 3rd trip out in the car, first time was on my 20's, and it sucked lol

last weeks best with stock gears at NMRA world finals was a 1.74 60' dumping at 5k and an 11.64@120

at 4300lbs or so with me in it, i knew the car needed more gear, so i threw in some 4.10's this week

first pass, i didn't have the seat locked in, and it flew back on me when i launched. i cut a 1.70 60' and ran an 11.64@122, lol, my feet must have been dangling looking for the pedals

2nd pass, 13.5 in the tires cold, 1.56 60' and knocked back an 11.38@122 the car kind of pulled to the right a bit when i launched. a guy i know said it look like the tire spun just a hair

3rd pass, i dropped the tires to 12 psi, i didn't figure 60's could get much better at this weight (about 4300lbs), burnout sucked, wouldn't spin more than 2 times, tried burning out in first, car shuttered like crazy trying to hook. i said f' it and figured i'd have a crappy run
boooommm
1.49 60' with an 11.17@123.05!

i was very pleased with that run, not bad for only having the car just over a month

video and a couple pics

.082 on the tree??? What... were you sleeping??? :P

If you were running 11s with the stock gears (yet dialed 12???), and went to 4.10s, shouldn't you have dropped more than 3/10ths of a second? That 3/10ths is all in the first 60 ft... sounds like it's either running out of gear, or air at the other end...

Either way, you must've rocketed by the guy at the 1/8th mile mark... you must've looked like a charcoal blur!! What was he driving?

I understand that... no amount of RT changes what the car runs down the track... but even those are only marginally better with the new gears...

i was running 11.64 with the stock gears, and dropped to 11.17 so about .5 tenths.

i went on bracket day just because the track is prepped better

originally i was dialed at 11.50 as i "can't" run faster than 11.50 without a cage, when i got up there after qualifying, they said street class (the only 1/4 mile class) has to be 12.00 or slower, i said make it a 12.00 , i'm running quicker anyway, lol. I wasn't trying to win or worry about r/t, i was just there to run e.t., when i need to cut a light i can, the only full season i competed i won 3 out of 8 national events

to the shelby! That is one beautiful car. I wouldnt drive it more than a couple thousand miles a year. That car is going to be worth mega bucks if you keep it in good shape!
