Transformers Out Tomorrow

I've been wanting to see this again for awhile now, and it comes out tomorrow. My family got an HD DVD player about a week ago and I just installed it yesterday. We'll see how much better it really is in HD.

That movie was awesome.

My boy wants it. He is 8. I am going to get it and watch it myself first to make sure it is age appropriate. I've heard it isn't too bad, some language.

mostly its alot of "robot violence" as expected. there are a couple scenes with a chick dressed a bit slutty but not much beyond that really.

That's good to know. Robot violence no big deal.

Sexuality and strong language might be another issue though.

At least I'll like watching it.

Hmm, still would be a good idea to watch it beforehand before giving full reins to your son. Off hand I remember 3 examples which would be questionable for an 8 year old.

1. A frank family discussion of, how do I put this..."self pleasure"
2. An analysis of a teenagers pheromone levels and mating.
3. And Bumblebee just whipping it out and whizzing on a guy.

But nothing you couldn't pull a, "Oops, I sat on the FFW button. Sorry."

As for me, I haven't decided whether to just buy the HD-DVD now, even though I don't own a player OR an HDTV. I'd hate to buy it twice.

Well I picked up a copy. Thanks for the heads up. I will watch it tonight when he is in bed and determine if it is too frank for him, if it requires me to hit FF occasionally, or if I can just cut him loose with it.

Here is what Kids in mind had to say about it.

Not saying that I agree with what they say. But they seem to analyze these movies very harshly and don't overlook things. Plus, it saves you from buying it, previewing it, etc.

I agree, I think some <read most> reviews on that site are a little over the top.

Think how many Hanes commercials you see on TV. What would they rate those?

But, it is informative and allows a parent that is that **** the opportunity to see what is in a movie, and make an informed choice.

If you don't have kids it is pretty useless but I think it does give me a heads up as to what to look for.

What I hate about Transformers is that they marketed the thing at kids, happy meals and such and then throw language and such in that aren't age appropriate.

I'm no prude but those sorts of things aren't necessary.
