There's got to be some high school JV and 9th grade jobs open somewhere in the Midwest...

The Huskers as an also ran -- they'll need to put the entire state of Nebraska on Prozac......

Actually, they're in real danger of losing that program -- the young kids coming out of high school today could care less what Osborne did back in the day, so there isn't much to draw a talented young kid to Lincoln when he could go to so many more glamorous locales......

Have you heard anything about Osborne coming in as interim AD? I heard what could have entirely speculation on an other board about this.

Well, If T.O. were going to be the interim AD, I think that would have been announced already. It seems he will be an adviser only.

And, yeah, kids don't go to a school based entirely on it's proximity to a beach. Idiot.

Heard about it about 30 hour after it happened...I just laughed

It would be best if they would keep up the firing thing and get rid of all of em...

But they sure don't go to Lincoln for the cornfields -- they go (or at least, went) to Lincoln because of the "mystique" of the Nebraska program.

That's why you got inner-city kids who would have never willingly set foot in Nebraska during their entire lives to agree to commit the four best years of their life in such a place. Once the mystique is gone, it will be extremely difficult to get the program back to where it was.

I would hate to have to try to re-build a program in Lincoln once the words "Tom Osborne" no longer register a blip of recognition with high school seniors......

I wouldn't mind going there, most of my 2 year degree stuff would have transfered from the college I did go to that was about half an hour away from Lincoln. But they decided they needed to expand the football stadium and pulled the plug on their engineering program altogether for more money. Now my favorite team is whoever is playing them, not that I was exactly a huge Husker fan before either

Well would you look at that. I guess that speculation I heard wasn't so far off.

Osborne returns as Nebraska's interim AD
