Get a cardboard circle to cover the rims from damage, wrap the whole thing in that stuff they use to wrap pallets with, slap a label on and go.
That's basically how I shipped mine. Only I used packing paper to wrap mine in along with the cardboard.

Thanks

I goggled for cheaper shipping options and found a discount freight company to ship mine from VA to TX. It was a business to business shipment and cost me 185 for all 4 wheels/tires.
FedEx and UPS wanted way to much. USPS wouldn't ship them because of the weight or size or both, I don't remember anymore.

Thanks for all the input. I will ask at the fed ex shipping center. I have a lot of shrink wrap. that idea sounds the best.

This would be the way to go. If 2 tires together weigh less than 150 pounds then wrap 2 together with the rims facing each other. If they're heavier than that you'll have to wrap and ship each tire as a separate package. Try a few of the airlines too. I've shipped stuff through Alaska Airlines Freight and it was way cheaper than UPS! Most UPS stores also have heavy freight companies that they can use for stuff that is too heavy for them to deal with. It's generally cheaper to look at that option too.
