Bathroom remodel

Has anyone gone with a solid surface tub surround?
I was looking at 1\4" corian and thought it might make for a good surround as well as a 3ft transfer from wall to floor around the perimiter of the bathroom.
Expensive yes, but no grout lines and only minimal caulking required.

Ideas appreciated, pros and cons on the product?

Pros - no grout lines, almost guranteed no leaks, looks

Cons - crack/scratch/ding any part of it and you cannot replace the damaged section.

I remodeled the master bath in my old house 2yrs ago, and did tile around the jacuzzi and ~1.5' up the wall around and IMO it came out t*ts.

It's all about taste, preference and of course $.

Im certin you wont be doing the work yourself. You of course will be using union carpenters and plummers right? Otherwise you will be taking work away from your union brothers and sisters. One of the members of the local 131 in your area should be able to tell you which is the best way to go and then they can do the work for you.

Best make it a christian union member, that way your F150 brothers will be happiest. Otherwise your going to hell.
