Even in my truck, I look both to sides, too many idiots out there. Witnessed several wrecks this year alone, all caused by stupidity. None involving cycles that I saw.

 

I always look to both sides when I have a green light just because of the idiots out there. When I lived in the city I would have been t-boned more than once by people running red lights by just not paying attention. Not by people trying to beat a light, most of them had a cell phone to their ear and just wasn't aware there was even a light.

 

This happened to my wife a couple of years ago. A guy in of all things in an F150 ran a light running about 50mph(so the cops said). Hit her in the side, then she proceeded to keep going then hit the concrete median bounce of it and went back across three lanes into about 10ft deep drainage ditch. We found out the hard way having to get air lifted to the hospital is expensive. Oh yea the cops couldn't determine fault since there was no witnesses and the guy said his light was green and the last thing she remembers is sitting at the red light and it turning green. The main thing is that she is still here and cars are replaceable and now both of us are more careful when going through intersections.

 

^^ Sounds like my last wreck. Lady ran a red light doin 50-55, trying to dial her phone. I barely remeber getting the green light. I was almost thru the intersection when her Explorer hit mine, right in the door. The people that stopped said the only reason they did is because they thought I was dead.

 

And that, boys and girls, is why you'll never see my fat *** on a motorcycle.
