new furnace.

What is better the trane or a carrier.

The trane model is 60,000 btu's and is model #xl 80.

The carrier is an cva-070 infinity 80.

Both are medium high effency down draft at a rating of 80.

Both are close in price, the carrier needs a custom air plenum and so becomes a couple hundred more. Carrier has other additional install charges that the trane dealer does not charge for.

Basiclly the carrier dealer wants almost &600 more than the trane.

any opinions?

thanks and I promise never to put my granny in an other post, ( not even in the T& A thread. )

...trying to not click on the granny link

I'd go with the cheaper one and who has better service (not that you should ever need it anyways). Both are well known names. Just got a new Trane 93?%(I think) efficient.

last july i had a 95% goodman furnace and a seer 14 heatpump put in and i could not be happier. it has a 10 year warranty parts and labor. and just so you know. if you are getting air i would get r410 freon they are going to stop making r22. your installer will try to talk you out of r410 it cost more and a lot of people dont know how to install it. this website helped me http://hvac-talk.com/vbb/

want to see what i had put in https://www.f150online.com/galleries....cfm?num=14360

good luck chris

I think I may have heard of a furnace once... Ah, the perks of living in South Florida.
