Haynes Manual

Anyone got a haynes manual for 97-03 f-150. Got it scanned or anything? would really like one and can't seem to find one at a car shop and don't really want to pay the internet fee.

I really would like to start learning to do things by myself. Anyone got any good tips for learning to do all this car stuff?

Depends what you are looking for.

Since Haynes and Chiltons are of the same company, and my Chiltons doesn't even tell me the right way to take out the non-fog headlight switch (Was telling me to take a screwdriver to it and wedge it out THAT hard?), I'd pass on a Haynes.

You want somebody to scan an entire book for you?

Although the Haynes manual does have a lot of good info, a lot of times it is just plain wrong. Your best bet is just to come on here and post a thread with the problem you're having. Chances are, somebody has the exact truck you have, and has had the exact problem. Many people on here take pictures while they work and will do a complete write-up on how to do it. Buy a Haynes manual anyway (they're like $13), but if anything seems strange just post it up on here.

Off the top of my head: LCA/balljoint not separable - must be R&R'd as a complete assembly. This is incorrect - I put Moogs into my original LCA's on my 2000.

BTW - Dallas - I've still got my old one on the shelf - it's yours for the postage/shipping fee.

Be advised that I live in Canuckistan, so that cost may exceed the thing's value

Bubba, after reviewing that particular section, you are correct, sir. That is what it says. I'll keep that in mind should the need arise. Thanks.

Non fog light and fog light switches are the same...

Haynes and Chilton might be wrong some of the time, but, its a lot easier than dragging your computer out to the garage and getting it messy.

Well went to the 3rd auto store and they finally had one in stock. Hopefully it will come in handy. I would like to learn to take care of my car better since my family knows NOTHING i mean NOTHING about cars.

I saw this Haynes Extreme Ford Pickup Manual. I wanted to get it so bad. It had a lot of cool things about caring for your interior, exterior, putting in a stereo system! Just couldn't get myself to cough up the 25 for it!

You do realize that wire colors do change as the years go on... right?
