oops double post. NASSTY, yeah the swirls are there but they're marginal. That pic makes it look bad for some reason. The truck doesn't even need a hit with the PorterCable. I did that by hand in those pics.

Yours aren't too shabby either.

you got some good pop out of it, but that one photo of your tail gate looks like it has wax break down on it. Almost like you tried to take the wax off and put something over it.

Due to the angle of the sun on Sat I couldn't get a full direct sun shot but i did get this in the driver door.

Nice.

I actually used a sealer, but the sun was bright that day and the tailgate may have still been hot before flipping the truck around in the garage. I used Opti-Seal.

Agree, Megs #80 is good stuff.

You could clay that tail gate and hit with 80 or Optimum polish, then....b/c it is black, use Megs #21 let it set up for a day, QD it then hit with Wax, or Use some Porboys PwS, (Polish wiht Sealer) then top it with wax. Something like S100, Megs #26 or Nattys Red if you can find it. If not try the Nattys Blue. Makes darks really, pop.

What do I know?

EDIT: last5oh_302 I also see your ordered your F150 with the option Orange Peel paint...good choice I love mine!! Just kidding of course.

This is a good conversation to take in the C&D section. (Where my posts count )

Looks great in the other pics. The only pic I saw any swirls in is the pic MGDfan posted.

Yeah right! That sounds like a career!

I hit it with a bottle of beer and one coat of all in one opti-seal and call it a day

That was by hand as well, but opti seal is very good with a porter cable as well. It has corrective qualities to it as well.

what wax is over that opti seal?

I think I know now why its smeared like that. The sealer is not set up.

Wax will look streaky over sealer if not set. That is why I love the Poorboys EX-P. Sets in 60 min.

Food for thought...

Ok, back on topic....what was it again?

What is your email I will send you the sticky on detailing.

It is getting revised right now but you can get a good base from it...but by the looks of things a few changes in your process and you are good to go, then again the results you are getting is also great. Cheers
