Oh, BTW, when I double click the key fob, I get an air horn now It's quiet though cuz it's such a short blast.

You haven't been here long enough to recognize how badly you just stepped in it

Uh oh. Is there some Raoul history here?

Eitherway, we can argue back and forth over these damn horns, but IMO, it will have it's uses, safety wise.
Last night a few friends wanted me to use (abuse) it. I refused and told them to get their own damn horns if they want to abuse them, especially if it's in your own neighborhood. I gave the one guy a good blast (2002 Camaro SS 35th ann vert ) as we left the Timmies, but this was on HWY 2 in Ancaster, and as you know, it's basically in the middle of nowhere, especially at night.

I can't believe this thread, it's fooking hilarious. . especially someone calling someone out for being childish yet they've called them names on countless times just in this thread. Yup, real mature.
C'mon Thump - a horn is not the answer - it's still up to the offending party to react, or not. Worst-case is the potential for escalation - you may one day 'blast' the wrong guy ....

I grant that there are always going to be untenable situations, but for the most part, avoidance IS possible.

On the childish part - go read who started it - nah nah

Remember - you were the guy who allegedly stumped around in the dark with a shotgun lookin' fer a noisemaker, then said later you made it up... what is the definition of that again? ( Hint - 'humourous' des not count lol)

Jamz, Five_Oh ....Peace

Have you ever driven in Florida? I'm not too worried about honking the wrong guy either. I grew up in Miami, I had to worry about looking at the wrong guy growing up. It's nothing new. I find a lot of the people with horns actually have a problem with dealing with people on the road. The horn is probaly a good thing because it makes them laugh at the situation instead of getting mad and doing something they might regret. While it might not be the same scenario for all cases just like everything in this world.

PS: I don't even remember that thread. I was drunk, remember?

Yes, I have - I've been vacationing there as long as I can remember.

In my experience, NOTHING seems to deter these folks ....

Yeah - you were drunk

Doubtful, when rammin' them from behind didn't do the trick ....

I swear - some of those "hat&bonnet-mobiles" down there would give an M1A1 Abrams fits lol

Just a simple "yes or no" question.

Yes.
(and in that case, you blow the horn and they win)

I guess I don't use my horn much because I don't tailgate. Nobody is squeezing in because there is space.

Another thing I do, on a four lane road, when I see a car up ahead waiting to enter by making a RIGHT from a another road, parking lot, whatever...
If possible, I signal (so he doesn't think I'm drifting) and move over to the LEFT lane so he can get on.
After I go by I make sure I signal and move back to the RIGHT lane.
I want him to know I did it for no other reason, just for him so maybe by some miracle he'll do it for somebody else someday.

I hate it when I'm waiting to make a RIGHT and a car is coming that could move over for me, and doesn't. Sometimes, they are one after the other with just enough distance that you don't pull out.

Common courtesy alone could save a lot of gas in this country.
