I beieve it. Ni-cads got me 15-20 mph in my RC cars for maybe 5 minutes. Since the introduction of Li-pos and brushless motor technology I can now hit 50mph and easily do it for 15-20 minutes. The recent battery technology is the only reason cars are able to cover that number of miles between charges

Just to note, brushless DC motors have been around for decades and decades...

I don't get this whole hybrid phase this country is in. No other nation is using hybrid technology. Besides, you're still dependent on oil.

I wonder why I havent used them before the introduction of the li-po, li-ion batteries... Do they just work better with brushless motors

Where are you getting that from?

I know that Europe also has hybrids or all electric. The current phase of cars are hybrids because the battery life for all electric cars just isn't there yet unless it's in small cars like the SMART. FWIW, Chevys Volt that is supposed to come out sometime in 09/10 will be all electric.

If we want to wein ourselves from oil, hybrid powered vehicles isn't the way. Hydrogen fuel cell powered vehicles is the way.

I watched an episode of Top Gear last night and was surprised to say the least. They were testing the Mazda6 as well as the Ford version which would be the Taurus/500 right? Well anyways they actually ranked it the best car for the money when compared to anything out there in the same class. I guess we're doing something right when one of the most Anti-American shows gives Ford some credit.

Would be interesting...

Why don't we all just cut holes in our floorboards and power our vehicles like the Flintstones?

Well, my feet wouldn't reach the ground from my truck, so I'll stick with polluting the environment.

It's the Fusion.

And yes, the Fusion rocks the Japanese competition. I've done extensive research, and Ford has done extensive testing, as well as outside companies that typically bash on Ford and all responses come back with the FORD on top
