Well it finally happened

I didn't think I'd ever see the US dollar worth less than the Canadian dollar, but it happened tonight.

I heard stories of this happening way back in the 70's, but I never thought I'd see it in my lifetime.

Here's a cut n paste from my bank account today:

From: US Account - xxxxxxx
To: Chequing - xxxxxxx
Amount: $100.00 USD = $99.86 CDN
Exchange Rate: $1.00 USD = $0.9986 CDN

I sure hope things improve because I don't like this one bit.
A big chunk of my income is in US, so this hurts me personally.

5 years ago, $100 US got me $160 Canadian, now that same hundred got me $99.86 CND.

Ouch!

Any experts out there? Anyone have any encouraging news?
This sucks!!

It sucks if your income is from the states but it's kind of nice for others. The wife and I have been shopping a lot in the states this last year and now will shop there even more as I'm sure a lot of other Canadians living on borders will do which means less money going to our local businesses. Things around here are overpriced anyways so maybe this will help bring prices down on our side some. Sorry about your bad luck though.

That's true.
Maybe I'll take my American cash and start spending it across the border (no exchange rate loss) and cheaper goods.

Good idea Larry.
