It all depends on what you want. Beale St. is full of bars etc. the Rendezvous (sp?) has great bar-b-que and is right off of Beale. For T&A the Pony is pretty good but is a long way from Beale, expect a $30 cab fare each way. West Memphis is ok with the hotels being cheaper and not a long distance away. The price difference between W. Memphis + cab fare is still going to be cheaper than staying on Beale. I did a bachelor party there last month so I just went through all of this.

Don't stay in West Memphis they are truck stop motels. Stay out in east Memphis. There are some very nice ones at Poplar and 240. Then downtown (Beale) is only 20 min. away.

Help me out here...How can one be from Texas, but born in Tennessee? Rather, one should say "I was born in Tennesse, but reside by the grace of God in Texas?"

I would never claim to be from Tennessee. Being born there is just that. I have been in Texas for last 30 of my 37 years, with the first 7 years being in Virginia.

I am from Texas. My mom is Texan. I came from my mother. Simple equasion.

Beale Street has all the fun bars. If you are coming in and staying for a while, definately check it out. East memphis does have pretty good hotels. Anything right downtown will be real expensive.

Memphis can be pretty fun
