My '67 Fairlane originally sold in Arizona, and has spent the last 15yrs in California ... Not a speck of rust. I also have a '59 GMC Carryall (Suburban) NAPCO 4X4 which has spent its entire life in the high desert of eastern California. This truck has never seen a garage and has no rust at all! I really feel for you guys who live where they salt roads.

I don't know what you guys are talking about with salt....It has been quite a few years since the auto manufacturers started using a process to make their vehicles stand up pretty well to salt. This truck has been in Michigan all it's life (over 10 years) and has 225,000 miles on the odometer in this picture. The body on this truck will definately outlast the drivetrain.

I'd be more worried about what the heat in those salt free, snow free areas does to the drivetrain, than the salt in the northern areas.

Its all about keeping to a regular cleaning schedule, even in the winter, which is where most people fail.
