4:10 And No MTV VMA Thread Yet??
I'd say 1,000 crunches a day, and a bread & water diet will get Britney back in "girls and guys both drool" shape, in about 10 weeks.
I'd cut her a little slack on her body. Celebrity or not, she cranked out two kids in 21 months.
People seem to be "shocked" that Britney was lip-synching...
Hello, is this thing on? Artists have lip-synched television performances for decades. The one place you don't want to jack your song up, is on live TV.
Ask Keith Sweat (1997 Grammy's) and Bobby Brown (Any time he sung live) what singing live can do for your career, if you botch your song...

Britney has made some alarmingly stupid and very public mistakes, and has been presented in the tabloids as a liquored-up, straw in the hair, barefooted, trailer-skank, with two babies on her hip, a dead beat husband, emotionally unstable- but just happened to hit the lottery of luck and life.
So, quite naturally, when you're that close to the ground, everybody's gonna step on her back, neck, face and anywhere else they can land a foot... (Anyone remember Mariah Carey in the Glitter days?) The only way past the stigma, is to succeed in the face of it, as did Mariah Carey with her "Emancipation of Mimi" album, and as did Shania Twain, in the face of all the naysayers (haters) who were saying, "she's not country".
Media perception: Best friend, or worse freaking nightmare...
This is in no way shape or form to be interpreted as if I'm saying Britney is anywhere near the same caliber of vocal artist as Mariah Carey, Christina Aguilera, Whitney Houston, Celine Dion, Alicia Keys, or any other true powerhouse female vocalist. Those girls can sing circles around Britney. But, when it comes to selling records- Britney probably made more money, faster than any artist above I've mentioned.
Reason- she appealed to young girls... Her audience is growing up, so she has to do something that appeals to that crowd, moreso than the bubblegum and face-glitter crowd that made her a kagillionaire... Being a divorced mother of two, she has nothing in common with most teenaged girls in America anymore. She's got to reinvent herself, if she wants to continue as a singer- as did Madonna and Janet Jackson.
As you mature, so must your art... if you are an artist- that is.
