In horse back riding it's called the side pass (also called the full pass or full travers), leg yield, and half-pass.

A horse trained in side pass and side step is handy for opening gates with out getting off the horse.

It was a joke? Sorry Odin, you did a major fly-by. Maybe my brain isn't working so good yet this morning, after all, I've only had one cup of coffee so far!
