seatbelt question

seatbelt question

just got a 2000 xlt 150 and with no book i have a seatbelt/airbag symble blinking about 10 or 20 times then goes out, any ideas ?

ya know seeing as i am new here i guess i'll let that one go and say shame on me .
Here in Texas ya get busted real hard for not being belted up.

Im confused are you or are you not wearing your seatbelt when this happens?

yes we are wearing them, we get in the truck and put the seatbelts on then start the truck and thats when the flashing of th seatbelt light starts flashing

I think the sensor for the seatbelt is not recognizing that you are wearing it. Might be broken from inside the seatbelt connection.

If you need an owners manual, you can download one from www.motorcraftservice.com. They have them as far back as 96.

thanks kingfish51, i just got the download of the manual and guess what the dang blinking light is a "airbag light" and it says to have it checked asap.

guess it will wait like a few other things on my list.

I dont have an answer, but welcome aboard. This place is full of Texans and Canadians.

That makes it kinda hard to get a straight answer. :o
