I'm an ipod hater. But this new ipod touch is looking devilishly tempting with wi-fi internet access. Trouble is it's only in 8GB or 16gb versions.

In other Apple news, the Nano gets video, ipod classic thins up and gets a 160GB hard drive, and the iphone 8gb version drops to $399.

I've never cared for the icraze, but I have to admit the iphone looks pretty dadgum cool. A friend of mine has one... if the price keeps dropping I may cross over to the dark side...

 

why is everyone so against the Ipod? I had a problem with my Ipod video that I ended up cracking the screen on and getting rid of, but my Ipod nano second gen has been great. not too crazy about the video nano the memory just isn't enough, the 8 gb only holds like 1 or 2 movies if that, and that is without the music on it.

 

ipod is nice, but ild rather have a zune

 

Zune needs an update 30 gig is too small for a vid player anymore. FM radio is nice, but that wireless sharing is crap unless they changed it. You can only listen to a song you recieve wirelessly for 3 times or 3 days before it is deleted.

I agree the iphone is a bargain at only $100 more. But, I don't want to strand my family members out there on the Verizon network who can call my wife and me without using up their minutes.

As I said, hopefully some competition will be on the bandwagon for some cheaper and better? alternative. There have already been rumors about the Zune phone.

 

So I hit up the AT&T store last night ready to buy the newly reduced iPhone. They even had 4GB models for $299. After playing around some more, I couldn't even bring myself to pay the $200 less for this POS. In addition to not being able to MMS, highlight text, copy/paste, save pics from e-mail to the phone directly, or use standard headphones without modification I was informed my wicked 20% discount would not apply... I told them I know there is no discount on the phone... they said, "No, your service as well. Apple has stipulated no discounts for the iPhone data plan. You will also lose your phone plan discount as well. There is nothing we can do."

EX-FREAKING-CUSE ME?!!!! How in the hell does a HARDWARE vendor dictate cell plan prices it has nothing to do with?!!!!

I really, really hate Apple more and more each time I want to buy one of their products.

I think Apple bit off more than they can chew with the iPhone. Great idea, but they need to get off their high horse, wake up and smell the coffee.

Yeah, for reals. I almost flipped. My cell bill would shoot up nearly $30 a month just to have the illustrious iPhone. I was on the fence about it, and after we had the discount discussion that sealed the deal. Screw that. Pay more for less functionality... sure its sexy, the browsing is awesome, and its an iPod... but c'mon!!!

true, but if you get the Itouch instead you have no monthly service charges, like the data plan, etc
