Ordering Phone thru Amazon.com

Has anyone used amazon.com to sign up for cell phone service?? I was going to use them to sign up for AT&T, and I am nervous that it wont be as legit as just goin to the AT&T store. The reason I want to go thru Amazon is because they have the Blackberry Pearl for Free (after rebates). The store want $200 for it. They have all the same plans too

I don't think I'd have a problem with using Amazon for this, but you may also want to check out http://www.wirefly.com, one of the biggest guys online for cellphones and service. They appear to be offering the same free deal on the Pearl. (at least in my zip code)

As a side note, half the time you go into an AT&T branded store (or mall kiosk), you are actually going into an authorized reseller, not a corporate owned store...just like Amazon.com. It's the same two year agreement you are going to have to sign with the carrier in either place.
