Freakin' awesome. Had mine shortly after they came out. Best Blackberry I've ever had (my third one). Truetype works great, phone is the perfect size. Camera phone is great with lots of light (flash is worthless). Navigation is great with the ball, very easy to use and scroll around. Stellar battery life, charges quickly off any USB type B charger/port. Screen can be seen in any light.

Get it, you won't regret it.

my friend has one and the only problem that he had was that his little ball navigation thing would not scroll up but that only happened for like 2 months and it randomly started working again lol. But several other friends of mine have them and they like them alot and they are without problems.

I was thinking about ditching my nextel and switching to AT&T, and either getting the Blackberry Pearl, Curve or the BlackJack. The only think I dont like about the BlackBerry's are the fact that you have to get Blackberry service ON TOP of your AT&T Plan, which...can get VERY expensive! I may just end up getting up the BlackJack

Well, I may go with the BlackBerry, for $100 a month I can get the 900 national plan and and the Blackberry personal max (unlimited data and messaging).

Curve...

Good Size...

The thing that I like is the 2MP camera and the new media player for mp3's

I always thought the same thing until I got to play with one...they are VERY cool, You can surf the net anytime you want, and I will be using the Media player to its potential. And the Curve has a pretty good camera. I'll be hooking the phone up to my Truck for the music player. That and I do a HELL of alot of texting, so the full QWERTY keyboard will be nice

Don't be so sure. I found after toying with the Curve I actually prefer my Pearl. The QWERTY KB on the curve is very similar to the Treo's... IE, jammed together and much easier to make mistakes (older BB's are more spread out, much easier).

As for the Blackjack, its sucks monkey nuts. Really. Guy at work had it. It didn't last long. And if you get a smart phone you better have a data plan or why even bother at all? The personal BB plans are very reasonable and for what you get, worth every penny.

Do you have any examples of pictures that you have taken with the pearl? And how is the media player???

That and I would much rather have a motorola over a samsung

i have a blackjack and love it

its a well set up phone
alot of options.
battery life isnt GREAT
but its good enough.

i text alot and talk a good bit so it lasts about 2 days for me.
but the QWERTY keyboard is very nice on the blackjack, the keys are spaced well and good size. better then the pearl i think.

It was decent, and I'd say its better than the Curve's KB thanks to spacing, but still inferior to the Pearl and TrueType.

My main reason I didn't care for the BlackJack: Windows Mobile. Still oh so clunky to use.

Jamzypooh - smartphones are no more difficult to use than other phones on the market. I think they are easier thanks to better user interfaces and navigation. Regular phones just get a crappy keypad and directional pad. Bleh.

I gotcha, but all I use my phone for is making calls.

I'm just falling behind in the techie age. Wont be long and I'll be the dolt that has to have someone program his VCR. heh heh heh
