Photoshop CS2 problem

Take a look at the frame in this shot. I seem to be having a problem with my layer masks. Everything is set to 100% like it should. I hope the owner of the pic doesn't mind that I used it.

Anyone have any idea what is going on here?

I have no idea but that picture (minus the frame through the car, of course) is totally awesome!!!

Blend mode 'Normal"
Opacity = 100%

Fill opacity= 100%
Channels R , G, B Checked
Knockout = none

2nd and 3rd block checked below knockout...

I can make one look like yours by decreasing opacity or fill opacity.
Other than that I don't know....

This is for the layer with the stang in it.

Everything is set just as you say. This is actually the frame layer wich is on top. When I use the brush to erase the frame it doesn't totally go away like it is supposed to.

How about if you turn the frame layer off? Does it completely go away then. If not, the frame may of gotten merge with another layer...
I'm no expert and use a lot of trail and error with CS2...:o

I know it's huge but if you dont care, send me the .psd file and I'll see if it does the same thing on mine or see if I see a setting that would cause that. (matt at pss-mag dot com)

BTW that is an awesome picture and you have now, once again, inspired me to steal this idea from you with my own pics.

It is in the mail. Probably get there faster if I put it in CD and mailed it to you though.

Did you try just adding a wide stroke to the open sky picture (layer) or did you create a layer with the frame? I assume by your statement it was its own layer.
I used stroke on this one and I did not get the bleed thru....

your car layer is ontop of the white border layer correct?

or you can just erase that portion of the white border.

Got it, fixed it, and sent it back with the explanation.

Well the proof is in the pudding. I tried the same actions on my version and it did not work. Go figure. Maybe I'll re-install and see if it fixes it.

hmm wierd... if you discard the layer mask, then you should beable to fully delete section of the frame from infront of the car.

It took me a minute to figure it out, but once I figured out how it was put together then it was easy. I would have done it a much harder way.
