Ex-tokers wrestle with telling kids not to smoke

Parents are looking into the eyes of their teenage children and seeing their own past staring back.

Now, a generation of parents who cleaned their weed on “The White Album” are trying to figure out how to keep their kids from smoking pot and finding their efforts as useless as a double album in a world of iPods.

You can tell them, just make sure you tell them all the bad stuff. If you have anything good you're going to say about it, don't tell them. It's the old "Abstainance is best, but if you're going to do it anyway..." They miss the message you want to send and pick up on...

I'm your Dad... I smoked pot... it was cool... being high... love it... do it... whenever you want...

The rest of the message will be lost.
