2 things CharliHO

1. If you bill toyota they will take 90 to 120 days to pay you and if one little thing is not just perfect they will delay it more. I have done about 10 invoices over the last 18 months and they do the same thing everytime

2. Blow It Out Your A$$ ,

call me a jackass for that, not because i dont agree with your well thought out observation.
His point is the same regardless. If a newer truck could be had for the same or lower than your current payment why would you not swap to Toyota, unless you dont believe in the product or toyota is not discounting the products enough to make it worth the change. If I was Toyota trying to turn heads in a market where they are the underdog in a major way I would do all I could to get the truck on the streets and off the lots. Its not as if they are not giving them away, I see 0% and 7 g's off in the papers.

first of all. at this point we are just guessing.

the new tundra is less than a year old. for that fact and that fact alone, there will not be lot of them in any parking lot.

i dont know the pay that toyota is paying but in a factory there will be several more 2 to 10 year old vehicle than there are new ones.

i buy a new vehicle every 6 years, just because i could save $5k on a new one , does not mean i care to trade in my paid for used one.

i would imagine that a snap shot at 3 years from now will reveal a very diverse parking lot.

last. my dad always told me, never buy the first year of any new car model, anyone else ever heard that? An auto worker knows this better than anyone. I actually had a higher up guy from Japan tell me that.

sorry if i read to much into that, i thought the way it was presented, by the original poster, was that there were no Toyotas in the lot and wondered why.

The last vehicle that had a lot of problems on a new model launch was the Thunderbird. Since then the launches have been very good. The Explorer, Expidition, Fusion, Edge, 500, Mustang not to mention the Lincoln's, have all been near troublefree launches. I think all the major manufacturers have greatly improved the quality of their new models.
