Women in the military
I could address a lot of this in detail, but I won't. I will summarize it this way, though.
1. I don't have a problem with women in the military. In fact, I enjoyed them.
Married one, in fact.
2. Infantry/Combat arms (Where the REAL work is done) is still "all men". So, if you'd rather hang with dudes, you can always go into a combat arms specialty.
3. I've met women with more cajones than a lot of the men I've served with.
4. None of the women in my unit claimed to be conscientious objectors, wrote letters to their congressman, or changed their religion to Muslim to try to get out of going to the war. Some men, including my roomate, did. OK, 1 or 2 did get pregnant on purpose- but, far less than the men. There was one who didn't tell anyone she was pregnant, so she could go... Still did PT, hauled ruck sacks, and did all teh training we did- so she could go. That's ballsy. Meanwhile, a guy in my squad was faking a back injury to get out of going. Who'd you rather have in teh foxhole with you?
5. While it's true there are some slutty women in the ranks (Officers and Enlisted) there are some slutty civilian wives who aren't in the ranks, but gorge themselves on the men left behind when their husbands go off to war. More than a few guys I went to war with, spent 8 months away from home, and foudn their wifes 6 months pregnant- if not gone with all their stuff.
It's not the uniform that makes them slutty. Some are ***** with, or without the uniform. But, with most units being 10:1 men to women, most women become "picky", we call them "Princesses" because they get the picks of the litter. Especially overseas, where the picking is slim, and where VD among the "economy" is rampant.
6. 200 pounders and up in the military is rare. At 6'2", 250- I was an anomaly, not for my height, but for my weight. I'd say 90% of the men in the military are under 180 lbs, and 95% are under 200 lbs.
While I could hoist one or two of my light-weight comrades out of harms way. It would take two of them to move me. So, it's not just the women who are light-weight, weak bodies. Most of the men would not be able to hoist a 200 lb. man, in full battle-rattle, out of harms way.

Bighersh...I hope I didnt offend you or anyone else by my comment. I was just stating what I have heard from two of my friends that were in the army and one of them has been to Iraq twice. It is true that there are some women in the military that are not slutty just like in the civilian world. But for the most part a women that is surrounded by men is more than likely going to have a little "fun" . I only wish I could go to a place where the women out number the men by 10-1. That would be heaven!

We got an infusion of hot mammas when we got back from Desert Storm. About 12-girls straight out of AIT got sent to our unit. At some point, everybody had some fun with them. But, out of 10 years in, I only saw that happen once. AIT, after the first two weeks of restriction, becomes a sex fest. You've been without "contact" for 10 - 11 weeks, everybody is in the best shape of their lives, most being 18, 19, 20 years old... That's where you'll find the most "*****" but, at that point, everybody's green with horniness, even the Drill Sergeants (AIT).
The ratio in AIT is about 60% guys, 40% girls, so "it" is very easy to get. In our case, those girls brought that AIT mentality to permanent party.
Normally though, once you leave AIT though, if you're in a unit of 180 and you have 20 women, you're doing good. In most units of 180, it'll probably be less than 10%.
In my unit at Fort Huachuca, before and during the war, we had (let me think about it) maybe (MAYBE) 8 women, 150 hard-legs. Then, when they pumped us up to full strength (about 180-190) we had about 14-15 ladies, counting the supply clerk.
The only place one will find more women than men, is in Supply or Finance. The only problem is (at least in my day) the chances of you making it to E-5 in less than 8 years is remote.
But, talk about high ratios... We used to go to a club called "Obsessions" in Tucson, AZ off of ALvernon Way. I used ot hear guys talk about 5:1 (Women to men). I thought to myself, BULLS**T. There's no way there's a club where women out number men at that ratio.
Well, the first night I went to the club, there I was in line, with 4-5 of my boys, and a young lady was behind me, pressing her breassesses into my back.
Little did I know, that club was being fed by the University of Arizona, Davis Monthan AFB, and the city itself. I had fun, but not like I should have... After the war, it was not the same. It's like all the guys found out about it too, and the ratio went to like 1:1. Nice, but not great.

I didn't ay there were "no" ho's. I said there weren't many...
There's at least 3-4 bonafide ho's in every Batallion. And, at least one freaky female officer per Batallion, that doesn't mind getting some enlisted d____." But, we're talking what, 4-5 freaks in a unit of 800 people. That's rare. 0.5%..
Ironically, in desert storm, it was a few female officers that got caught up. They had their own "room" and a few got caught selling azz. No court martial, but they were, "reassigned".

I had two Army friends, Both named "SGT COOK" who left our old unit (123rd SIG) and got stationed at Fort Polk w/5th Sig.
When were you at 5th Sig? An old Army buddy of mine was there, before 5th SIG decommissioned, and came to Fort Hood where they were re-activated as 2nd Armored Division, then 4th ID as a part of the Force 21 modernization.

If that place isn't the butthole of the army, it was in the general area.

I was in Germany then.
I heard Fort Polk was, along with Fort Riley and Fort Stewart- the worse duty stations in the Army...
That's saying a mouthful when you consider we had posts in Alaska (cold as Hell), Panama (Muggy- but lots of women), Honduras (A half-step above a hunter-gatherer society), and Korea (where they use human feces to fertilize the crops- and the entire country smells like crap)...
I typed military girl into google image search and OMG. I clicked on one and it took me to a place that was very nice but not appropriate for here.
