pianists in the house?

Okay, so if anyone wasn't aware the wife and I are living with my mother while we build our house, and a few weeks back Mom bought a piano...

She and my wife both play (I can pick out few melodies here and there, but no I don't play) Well, the only music they have is a couple church hymnals. I have nothing against church hymns and from time to time enjoy hearing them, but IT'S GETTING OLD, FAST!

So, can someone please show me some place (and/or recommend something good) to find some good contemporary music. Rock, easy, etc, etc... I don't care, just something I can have her play that isn't in a hymnal...

I kinda wish I could play, and I'd just look for something to play myself to break the monotony. I could get out the electric guitar/amp and drown them out, but I haven't really touched it in almost 2 years (haven't had much time for it), and I wasn't very good back then. I'm hoping once the house is finished I can pick up a good US Strat, and devote some time to it...

Just look for sheet music on a bit torrent site or a p2p like limewire. That's where my wife gets all hers.

Just drop into a music shop, or Google a guy named Jim Brickman. He writes some absolutely beautiful piano music that isn't as hard as classical.

However, if your wifey is good, then grab a copy of Rachmaninov's Rhapsody on a theme by Paganini.

If she can handle that one, you'll be blown away.

Actually, I would bet you would like anything written my Paganini.

Here's a youtube of some Paganini done on Guitar (at the very end faked by the Karate Kid.)

Steve Vai and Ralphy

I never said I was against downloading, I just mostly wanted some good recommendations on tunes... I'm sure if I looked I could find most anything, but I wanted to know what other folks thought was good, and as 1969Mach mentioned what might be easy and what might not be.

Seeing that she hasn't played in several years I would say she'll want to start out slow. I bought her a decent Yamaha keyboard for her birthday a while back, but with the wedding planning, and now the house it hasn't seen much use. I'm pretty sure though she'll get back into it once the house is done...
