More trouble in the mine

Now at least one of the rescue team killed!

And the mine owner said they were totally safe.

I heard one of the owners, and spokes person, Bob Murray just going off on a tirade after the first collapse saying that the mine was safe and a quake caused the collapse ect. But the Geologists said the main seismic activity was the actual collapse of mine itself. They do say that the mountain’s shifts (called bumps) were responsible, however, I believe this is a frequent occurrence in mines and that the practice of retreat mining may be the main contributor to the collapses. Apparently there are coal pillars that are utilized to reinforce the structure and in retreat mining these are removed.

Please correct if I'm misinformed.....

God be with them all! Let it be known that the bravery and undying willingness to help their brothers in their time of need will not go unnoticed. My Dad told me once when I was young..."Coal miners are a rare breed."

Yeah, it's the whole mountain moving in slow motion. There's alot of pressure points that give, just like fault lines do. Yahoo says three rescue workers died of the six that were injured.
