The only thing cool about the Vehicle Team voltron, was the helicopters, and their "spinning laser blades". Far too complex though, if memory serves, there were 15 vehicles total, 5 each in the air, land, and sea teams. I never saw a full episode of that one.
But the lions were awesome, especially when seen through my 7th & 8th grade eyes. I started settign the DVR to record Voltron for my son it comes on in the "Adult Swim" portion of Cartoon Network, around 5 AM CDT. Looking at those episodes now, I'm like- "Jeez-Louise, this sucks..." But, back in 1982, 1983 Voltron was the Shiznit.
I'm almost scared to look at the old Transformers... I might think they suck too, now. So, I won't watch them, secure in the belief that they were better then, than the new Transformers are now.
I'm glad they based the movie off the 1980's series, rather then this anime' raped version the kids watch today...
