New Rig, Explorer

Since the lease was up on the 1fiddy, I needed to pick something else up. Yesterday I ended up with this 2004 Explorer XLT with only 32,000 miles on the clock. I think I got a great deal on it at around $16k, especially being a certified vehicle. It has the 4.6L V8 so it moves pretty decently. My only gripe is the interior color (tan) but the performance of the V8 will soon help me get over that.

The wife was set on a black Limited Dodge Durango, nice ride but I wasn't having it. Fortunately it was a little out of our league.

Here's a pic, blast away at me not owning a truck for the first time since I've started driving.

Is it any coincidence that the "How not to remove a basketball hoop with an Explorer" thread is right below this one?

Nah, seriously. The Explorers are nice. It is basically a truck with a little more sheetmetal. You'll enjoy it. At least you got another Ford.

Would be my choice if I didnt have an ATV to haul around. Nice ride man, hope it serves you well. I agree too your deal seems pretty decent all things considered

Looks good -- I think that Explorer looks much better than the current models.....
