Hhhmmmm so maybe I shouldn't make raised beds. I should just plant in the ground so I have to get on all fours to till the soil and pull weeds. Whoops, did my sundress ride up a little too high?

Oooohhhh you're evil. Yea, all that rain would soak my little white dress, making it all clingy to my skin and such. But it would be great for the garden.

First if the soil is too hard or too sandy you will need to add some compost or other material so you can keep the moisture content even.

You can double dig the soil adding material as needed and garden on a flat surface or use raised beds (with or without framing) with walking paths around them. In that size garden you could do a few square yard areas that can be reached from all sides for weeding, picking veggies and trimming as needed.

I find gardening both rewarding and relaxing if you keep the area to a manageable size. I used to get out of control and grow about 5000 square feet of veggies but now am much simpler.

Good luck!
