Looking for in-dash DVD - Need Help

Anyone have an in-dash DVD system?
What is it and would you recommend it?

I want to buy one this week, but it's so confusing.
The one I'm looking at is a JVC KD-AVX33, but I'm still not sure.

Is it possible to get everything included with these systems?

DVD / CD / mp3
am/fm tuner
Blu-tooth
GPS
5.1 sound
USB port
Built in hard drive
Receive your text messages on screen as you drive?
Sat radio ready
Back up cam input
able to control a changer that holds both cds and dvds

That's about all I can think of for now.
I don't know jack about this new stuff out these days, so if you have any DVD type system, let me know your thoughts, how you like it, and what you have. also price (ball park)

D are you there mang? You're an expert in all the fancy schmancy gadgetry aint ya?

Also, if anyone knows any good forums for reading about this, let me know. Thanks you!

and Buckey, I don't wanna hear about how good your in dash 8-track player is holding up.

Check out www.crutchfield.com. Excellent place to see what will fit your vehicle and what each system has.

Quiet from the peanut gallery

Don't worry bro, you can't watch these things while you're driving, only in "park"
Unless I can figure out how to over ride it

Thanks for the replies everyone else.

I finally bought the in-dash video unit today and had it installed.

You can call me cheap if you want, but I just couldnt pass up this deal:
JVD KD-AVXII for $239 installed.

I went in and they had 1 open box sitting there. Some dude bought it and returned it because he found the screen too small.
It's only 2.7 inches, but for me its good enough.

Best Buy discounted it to $239 + install, but I managed to get them to include it. (after a few minutes of bitchin and tellin the mngr what a valuable customer I am)

Here's a link:
http://www.bestbuy.ca/catalog/prodde...gon=&langid=EN

I'll use it mostly to play concert DVD's as I drive, and wifey can watch her "Murder She Wrote" as we drive to the east coast.

I got the guy to install it so it works "all the time) but honestly peeps, don't worry about it because the screen is so small, you can't really watch it while driving anyway, for me it's motr to listen.

It has nice sound, decent looking picture, and the EQ presets are not too bad.

Regards
H

Yes. See my front bumper? That's my excuse for getting the 06 front end. I'll be getting the 2006 front bumper and the chrome edition grille... It'll look something like this, only less whiteish and more redish

Your buddy has an 03-04... and he didn't do the bumper swap. Just the grill and headlights. me.

I'm also going to do the emblem swap to the newer style ones. Then, the only giveaway from the exterior that my truck is an older model will be the 7.3 decals and the wheels.
