What's with your typing today?

This is exactly as I see it too. The 360 has some really good titles, availablity is good, price is ok, but the PS3 has it beat hands down as far as power. The PS3's game selection will kick in sooner than later, the price will balance out, and I think the PS3 will take the lead by this time next year.

I have a PS2, and never liked the XBOX, so I guess that would make me biased, huh?

As far as the Wii, I have been a Nintendo fan since the NES, and I will always be a fan. I'll support Nintendo, no matter what. They haven't let me down, yet.

Same here. I'm eventually going to get the PS3, when the price is right.

Sony loses money on the sale of every PS3. Not sure how much. They're betting on the games to pull a profit. So far, the problem is... no 'great' games. Once the games start to pick up, I bet the price comes down even more.

I bought the PS3 about a month ago....It rocks ! Just started playing Call Of Duty3 online and it is out standing! They have enough games to get by on and it's no question more good titles are on the way. Sony does not charge a fee to play online like MS does which is a big deal in my book .
Watched a Blu ray movie the other day and it was amazing...kinda like seeing HDTV for the first time well maybe not that good !
If I could change one thing I would add the rumbler back to the controler.

Just to through some fuel in the fire...

On all the comparisons I have seen of PS3 vs 360 side by side, the 360 beats the PS3 hands down in picture quality and speed..

With my own personal experience, with my buddy's ps3 and my 360 side by side each on identical 42" 1080P samsungs, the 360's picture is a lot more crisp then the ps3...

For now.

You may be right, the 360 might look better now, but keep in mind the PS3 is new technology and game designers/programmers are having to get used to the new hardware, and power of this machine. The 360 isn't new, is just been kicked up a notch.

Once everyone gets the hang of the PS3 new hardware........watch out.

I was wondering about that.
I don't own either yet... very close though.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but I thought there was a setting on both those systems to adjust to your TV's ability? Like you can set it to 420p. 720 i or p, and so on?

Are both consoles a HDMI hook-up, or optional HDMI?
and finally, wiyth your and your friends, are they both hooked up using HDMI?

It's interesting to talk to someone who has actually compared both side by side on a 1080p TV.

Thanks!

** One reason I was seriously thinking about buying the PS3 now was because of their movie offer.
The local store is selling them for $549 and they throw in 1 Blu-Ray movie, but then there's another summer promo going on which gives you an additional 5 Blu-Ray movies. (this one is available to US residents too)

So $549, but that includes 6 Blu-Ray titles, it almost takes the price down to about $400 for the player.

So that's where I was leaning, but then I read your post, and now I dunno again, lol

Maybe I'll go get the Wii and RE4, damnit!

I have the old school 360 without HDMI. He used HDMI and the 360 still looked crisper.

i think the elite 360 comes with the hdmi but the normal 360 you got to buy it seperate. i think the elite 360 is like $450 so the price difference between that and a ps3 isnt huge IMO.
