How was your weekend...

Mine was busy.

It started Friday night...I hooked up my Onkyo HTS and played around with it till about 1:30 Saturday morning...crashed. Friday was a long day.

Got up about 7:30 with Brooklyn pulling my hair, so we played for a bit. Got up and made breffess for everyone, and conituned to play with the HTS. I wanted to mow, but it was raining like a cow whizzin on a flat rock (got another 3 inches of rain)....but, oh well.

Got a call from a buddy, he wanted to go fishin later in the evening...COOL! I got a few pics..post em in a minute..
Didn't catch chit...water is too busy with all this rain.
We had to cut it short, a friend of mine "broke down" on HWY 175, and I had to go "save the day". I learned something from that...Brooklyn will know how to change a tire.

Anyway, that was Saturday...

Sunday, played with the HTS system, checked the sound on the DVD, Radio, PS2, Wii, and GameCube...just fiddled with it, enjoying the sound....it's been awhile since I had a nice system.

Lastly, we had a fish fry at the church Sunday evening.

...still haven't mowed the yard.

Whoa, crazy! I JUST emailed someone this exact question. ha ha ha

Our weekend was nice and busy. It was the first weekend that hubby has had off in FOREVER! We got both lawns edged & mowed, put up a mister system around the back patio, put up part of our new fence, hung outdoor window shades over the boys' bedroom windows, laundry, cleaning, vacuuming, and went to a friend's 13th wedding anniversary party.

Dane has been sick with SOMETHING but we don't know what. He had his 9month checkup on Thursday and the dr said he's got asthma pretty bad so he's on a nebulizer breathing treatment at night. On top of that he's on allergy medicine and he's also getting his eye teeth which are, for some reason, the most painful. He is snotty and drooly and whiney. UGH! My poor baby.

If you don't mow soon, you will get a chigger infestation.

My weekend started Friday. Got to go play golf at Colonial as the guest of a vendor, had a great time. Been playing a little more after laying off for about 3 or 4 years. My game is coming back a little, at least enough that it is fun again. Repaired the pool filter system Saturday, had to replace a manifold. Cleaned up the truck and waxed on it some Saturday night. Sunday afternoon, painted the walls in part of the upstairs bathroom. Was hot as hades as had to keep the door closed most of the time and it was a small area. I'm too big for working in small areas, so took about 3 hours. The pool felt great when I was finished. Took a short nap, then waxed on the truck a little more, and did some cleanup in the yard. Did a little work on some office stuff I had taken home, read some of a novel. Got to talk to a special friend some, so all in all not a bad weekend.

Nice pix...

I got to catch up with some family that I haven't seen in a while... but funerals always dampen such reunions...

I also got my heat/air unit on Saturday. My father-in-law brought it up, and we (with help from some friends, and cousins) set it next to the house. I think they rated it the same way the floor jack folks rated my floor jack. They used to rate jacks by how much weight they would support, however my 3 ton jack is rated by how much IT weighs. The new 4 ton heat and air unit is rated the same... FIL is supposed to come up next weekend, if he doesn't work, to help me pour a slab for it, and my generator...

I also bought and assembled a wooden picnic table for my buddy's wife. Today is her birthday, so the wife and I and our other pair of good friend's bought her the table. I assembled it, and left it sitting on the trailer in the driveway. Then my wife put a big bow on it, and my nephew (4 years old) made a Happy Birthday sign for it... and we invited them over for a little BBQ...

Friday I swiped a Tootsie Roll from the Quik-In and beat feet.
5-0 ran me down about two blocks and three backyards later.
When they were cuffing me I noticed the dash-cam and asked if I was gonna be on COPS.
They said I wasn't gonna be on COPS for no damn Tootsie Roll.

Sunday released on my own recognizance.
Court date Wednesday.

Lake Fairfield.

It is full of water .... and I mean full.

Once the water settles more, I'm really looking forward to getting back into that one little spot to throw some line.

[edited to add]

Remember that bait cast thread?

That's what I fished with, and I didn't "bird-nest" one time. Of course we only got to fish for about 2 hours, but I survived.

I know what y'all mean about pin pointing the drop of your lure.....I'm getting a bait cast on my way home tonight.

Nadda...too muchy rain lately. Once the water settles down some and the fish aren't so disoriented, I think fishing will pick back up.

How was your weekend . . .
I returned to the left coast after three intense weeks out in the hinterland. Bought a house. Talked on the phone a lot. Signed some papers. Had dinner out with friends. Went grocery shopping. Had reverse culture shock. Worked at this charitable foundation I got associated with out in the hinterland. Sat in traffic. The usual. So all in all, it was OK.

That looks like a pretty little East Texas lake. Was up at Breckenridge last Wednesday. Hubbard Creek Lake is full, first time in about 10 years.

Got up Saturday morning at 4:30 and went fishing for about 5 hours. The fishing was fantastic. Caught probably 50 bass with most of them hitting a buzzbait. At least 10 of them were 3lb+. Came home and just lazed around the rest of the day. A friend brought his laptop over and I had to clean off some browser hijackers while his kids played xbox.
Sunday I cleaned out my sheds and hung a storm door. Neighbors came over right when I was finishing up and we sat around and had some drinks for an hour or two. They left and we had supper then I played COD2 for a couple hours before bed.
Today I have to make a run to the dump to get rid of all the scrap wood I've accumulated over the last year. Then come home and get another load of crap from the sheds I cleaned out that I'll just take to the dumpsters at work. After that I'll probably kick back for awhile and then go fishing again later this evening. Back to work tomorrow.
