The wild rat snake we had even ate the frozen rodents, though they say wild snakes are picky eaters. The python ate the freshly warmed frozen mouse right away. Captive bred snakes readily eat dead food, whereas wild ones don't.

Really, if a live mouse isn't coiled well by the snake's initial strike, it can take a good chunk out of the snake with a bite. Mice have nasty teeth and can easily cause the snake injury or infection. It's best to feed them , or train them to eat dead rodents.

Dude, all I can say is that I'm glad that they are in your house & not mine, I absolutely hate snakes, Lizards I can tolerate, the only good snake is one I can run over with the F-150 SCREW..........
